At Not.a.broker, we believe a business being the wrong fit for one buyer doesn’t make it the wrong business.
Through our work with private equity firms, family offices, search funds, and other acquisition-minded buyers, HansenHarding identifies privately held businesses that may fit specific acquisition criteria—or “buy boxes.”
But not every business we uncover fits the exact size, industry, geography, EBITDA, or investment criteria of the buyer we originally sourced it for.
That doesn’t mean the opportunity should disappear.
That’s where NotABroker.io comes in.
We give qualified buyers access to businesses that have been identified through our broader sourcing network but don’t fit the original buyer’s criteria. These may be exceptional companies that simply need a different type of buyer.
A business might be:
We don’t believe good opportunities should be discarded simply because they don’t fit one buy box.
Not.a.broker is designed to create a second path for those businesses.
For buyers, our membership brings that seller intelligence together with Seller Leads access in the app, search tools, private personal notes, shared company notes, monthly new-business updates and Q&A meetings every two weeks. The $300 monthly company membership includes two named seats, with additional seats at $100 each per month. Everyone signs in through their own account. Company owners who want research focused on their own industries and locations can apply for Targeted Search, a $4,000 monthly membership that replaces the $300 base membership while active. Extra seats stay $100/month each, and the company keeps its usual tools. Targeted Search includes private lead lists, appointment coordination and personal check-ins.
HansenHarding’s role is to identify and develop relationships with business owners. Not.a.broker extends that network by connecting qualified acquisition-minded buyers with opportunities that may fit their criteria.
This creates a simple philosophy:
One buyer’s “no” can be another buyer’s opportunity.
We aren’t trying to put every business on the market.
We’re building a network where good businesses can find the right buyers—even when they don’t fit the first buyer’s criteria.
Visit HansenHardingOur goal is to make acquisition sourcing more efficient for everyone involved.
For buyers: access to businesses they may never have found through traditional brokered processes.
For sellers: an opportunity to have a confidential conversation with a qualified buyer without immediately entering a public auction process.
For HansenHarding: a way to create additional value from the proprietary relationships and opportunities developed through our sourcing work.
Not.a.broker is built around a simple idea:
Sometimes, they just need to find the right one.
